Palimpsest
There is no portent of illness.
the Almsgivers earmarked the palimpsest.
Raw limestone.
a canon of sour notes.
with deep grooves and bowing groves and hollows,
Without force.
ink runs down
the shapes of Aleph, Lamed, Teth
barreling towards misery.

Intriguing. Is this an erasure poem?
It isn’t, the spacing is inspired by erasures but it isn’t one itself. Thank you for reading.
Interesting. A canon in sour notes — I love the canon form in music, so putting that in sour notes is a great sensory detail. The spacing reflecting palimpsest — great visual as well as a strong metaphor. Very interesting poem and creative presentation. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for reading and for your kind words.
I like the running ink from the letters barreling toward misery – forboding in a supernatural way
