Safety on board
EMERGENCY
I watch you panic
over something small
you didn’t care about
yesterday.
OPEN SEATBELTS
Abandon your seat.
Run for the exit.
You don’t know
where it is, though.
GET OUT
When the alarm stops,
you realize…
The instruments failing.
And the alarms sounding.
Were your own.

Love the form and how it drives the reader “from panic/over something small/you didn’t care about/yesterday.” to this amzing ending “And the alarms sounding./Were your own.”
the stable structure of three sequences combined with the contents of the “fleeting” world of events and inner awareness works so well! I loved your poem! It feels so original with your viewpoint!
What a unique beginning! I love the form.
Well done capturing panic.
