STILL WATERS
STILL WATERS
As the surface of a lake or
pond must be still to reflect
a perfect image of the full moon
rising from behind the hill,
so must the surface of the
poet’s mind be still before he
or she can create and share
an arresting reflection of reality
in a few lines of poetry.

i wouldnt know what to do with a still mind… i cant even begin to write until all of my split personalities are in a shouting match…
James, I love reading your poems. A still mind is so necessary.
From one still mind to another….. I agree!
I love your poem about poetry.
