Stop Racism
Placed on the lower right corner of vehicle’s window
In front of me in drive thru at Jimmy-John’s
Vehicle is all black, a VW SUV, tinted windows
Placard is bright white, big contrast to vehicle
Grabbed my attention, my thoughts
Wish it wasn’t necessary to be said
Wish we lived without its call
Wish we lived in harmony, ALL.

Amen!
Amen!
Third Amen! Love the closing couplet.
Mm, yes, it’s so hard. Jimmy John’s being a worst offender in that category, as well. My mom always said she didn’t have bumper stickers because they would alienate people. I used to not have them because I thought if I made a dumb move in my car, I’d ruin the message forever to the reader. I guess it’s the same thing as my mom’s thinking, a different way. If I had them now, I’d definitely be shot within a day, where I live. Thanks for sharing this one.
Well said, Linda! The last verse is a powerful message “Wish we lived without its call, Wish we lived in harmony, All.” You and I are sharing similar thoughts today on our poems.
