The curtain is drawn
Sunday night I got lost behind the stage
curtain after delivering my 5 poems
at O’Donnell auditorium for my MFA
Emerging Writer Award for poetry
the ramp was a maze, couldn’t find
my way back to my seat
where my daughter and friends
worried, Where’s Linda?
Finally found a corridor to front
of auditorium, rolling up front
to my seat, not disturbing other
readers and audience.
Now the LexPoMO curtain
is also drawn! Adios!

You told me to do it! lol enjoyed this month of poems.
Oh, Linda, we’d never let you get lost! Take care, fellow Pennsylvanian.

This is fun.
Congratulations
to a salt-of-the-earth
poet.
What a fun poem! I am sure this community would never let you get lost. We’ll be there to keep you company— like your lovely poems have for us this month. 💜
Glad you found your way then and to us 💜
Wonderful story and way to bring it full circle! You’ve had so many powerful poems this month!
I love the sense of confusion this poem evokes—I can see you in that backstage maze! That disorientation after sharing what’s important to you. At least that’s how I read it. Where’s Linda? Hilarious! I’m glad you wrote these poems for us to find!
Quite an odyssey, Linda! Glad you found your way 😏
love the image of you losing yourself behind the stage and finding yourself in your poems this month. congrats on the MFA Emerging Writer Award for poetry
