The Scent of Jasmine
Jasmine, soft white stars, delicate flower
that exudes the flavor
of fruit earth, sensual silk
like flying a kite
in the summer breeze
along a distant shore.

Virginia, a very soothing and wonderful poem. Too, amazing imagery!
I appreciate your kind words. Happy the imagery came through.
I am enjoying your poem complemented by a cup of jasmine pearl tea! A wonderful start to my morning.
This made me smile in appreciation. I did not know there was jasmine tea and will have to try it. Thank you for sharing your morning tea with my poem.
Following Nancy’s good example making jasmine tea right after this reply and sipping in each word again.
Wonderful! I feel like I am at a tea party and love it. Thanks for reading and sharing.
Thanks for giving this reader more to think about, with the scent of jasmine!
You are so welcome and thank you for reading and sharing a kind comment. The jasmine vine is actually part of the olive tree family, which is so interesting.
Lots packed into this tiny poem. Just beautiful!
Many thanks for your kind assessment.
Oh, the places that scent can take us!
You are so right. Thank you for stopping by to read and enjoy. I appreciate it.
Breathtakingly beautiful, Virginia Lee! Title invites me to follow the scent on a lilting journey through exquisite imagery: “delicate flower / that exudes the flavor / of fruit earth.”
Thank you so much for your kind insight into my poem. I am happy the imagery came through.
