Upon Watching the Film Dark Waters
Why aren’t we marching in the streets
against corruption, government
and corporate interest not serving us?
Because we’re Americans believing
the myth of the American dream,
that we’re all equal and our hard work
results in success. Red, white
and blue–that’s us. The wild west
of no restraints. We still think
we’re the cowboys in our childhood
Saturday matinees.

Old myths die hard.
Old myths DO die hard! I still have a Kit Carson scarf in my dresser drawer of treasures…Tho Roy Rogers was my favorite!
There can only be one hero, or a least a small posse, right? Supporting roles don’t matter.
The title–wonderful. We do not like discomfort. I’d be out there if it weren’t for covid. I’m grateful to know one of my granddaughters has learned to be vocal during these times.
