Wishing Well
Alone tonight
Listen— rain I cannot see
rushes for the grip of ground
food for grain & pushes worms
onto the concrete to crisp
in the inevitable sun
Listen— a morning
for dead things
slowly drying
A wishing well in reverse

Oh ! ” the inevitable sun “
This is great! I love this:
pushes worms/onto the concrete to crisp/in the inevitable sun
And:
Listen—a morning/for dead things/slowly drying
The more I read this the more I think, “this is brilliant!”
Very cool, Bernie.
It almost read upside down, as well!
Joseph, alter the cadence and let the ampersand be a comma. It works! Really neat. Bravo Bernard!
