Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings and poetry workshops.

Bio for 2019

Originally a theatre nerd (Ohio Wesleyan University) and then a restaurateur (Cafe Jennifer), Jennifer is currently a maker of soup and a writer of words. Raised in Ohio, she has lived in New York City and Seattle, but has settled in the Bluegrass to be near her Appalachian roots.

Reason for signing up:

I write fiction, and I hope this daily exercise will get my creative juices flowing. (I’m definitely not a poet, so this will be a good stretch for me.) I participated several years ago and had a great experience. Let’s go, y’all!
