Just listen to that first line — wow! love so many of the sounds in this. and the word choices “mornings butter me” is just too perfect. Lovely rendering of this moment.
The title is genius!
The title is genius! Fits perfectly for poem.
Loved the images and word choice!
Bell-bottom legs! Adorable and so apt.
Feels like not a word was wasted here! Great imagery. Especially loved “cool porch mornings butter me with unexpected verses”.
Like everyone has said, the title is perfect; it drew me into the poem, not that your magnificent language wasn’t enough to entice me. Again, “mornings butter me with unexpected verses” is beyond lovely! I am in love with your warm, light imagery like wrens negotiating a tenant agreement and lambs with milky smiles. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us!
I agree–“genius title.” It sets up the abundance of wonder that follows. The sounds of the first line took my breath away, as well as the “butters me…” Love every image, and the how the lines get longer and longer, as if they’re unable to contain so much beauty.
Love all the richness of summer here, and the richness of your images and words.
Ohhh how fun! I agree with everyone else .. and it was great to write with you this summer. Your farm seems like a magical place!
