Picture a watercolor
of
days,
slow
time, that sense
of lifting, memories
of
a childhood
farm, when she understood
love as
place.

This is such a nostalgic poem!
Yes, when I was young, we visited with cousins, aunts, and uncles almost every weekend at the farm. Loved every minute of it.
So fantastic. Your ability to sculpt the remarkable from marble is so very thoughtful.
Thank you, Shaun!
Gorgeous. Elizabeth Strout would be gobsmacked.
Thank you, Kevin! Elizabeth Strout gobsmacks me with every book she’s written. One of my favorite authors.
That structure echoes watercolor paintings so well–the flow, just like water. And the individual words punctuate the poem as the colors punctuate the water in watercolor. Love it!
