Bio:

Virginia Parfitt (Ginny) grew up in Northern Appalachia and the pull of the hills and hollows is strong, but the pull could not overcome the sheer economic reality of the area. Funny how even the not-so-good memories and hardships can seem lit from within, when the light hits from a just-so slant. She writes when the sun slants in just that way. She currently makes her home in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Stefan is a visual love poet drawing creativity from composers, underground rap artists, and everywhere in between. History and philosophy played an equally large role in writing becoming a hobby first in middle school and an obsession a year or so later. Sabne Raznik is an internationally published poet, a former community theatre actress, and an award-winning artist with three poetry collections - Following Hope, Linger to Look, and Rabbit Hole. Her latest book is a collection of artworks titled Renaissance: Visual Art 2005 - 2019. She founded and co-edits AvantAppal(achia) ezine and co-edits North/South Appalachia. She also helps curate at Gallery 6. Raznik believes herself to be a supranational poet, in that she feels the arts transcend manmade boundaries. In view of that, her effort as part of the Appalachian Renaissance is to break stereotypes and showcase Appalachian poetry as a living part of the world-wide literary scene, as well as to encourage the underrepresented but thriving Appalachian avant-garde in the global context.

Haley is a creative with expertise in media and marketing. Most of all, she is a dreamer, a humble dreamer with a lust for the present. Haley has been pen pals with Juliet in Verona, written love notes in Lexington, and buried letters in Nicholasville. For it is the ceremony of pen and paper that sends her into a honeymooned bliss.

I believe a lot of people like to hide behind their writing. Sometimes so much so that the fire meets it first. Sometimes I see that fire dance on my walls in the candlelight. Bio:

Born among the frond-threshed, stucco-studded marshlands of Broward County Florida, Goldie was re-potted among the goldenrod and indigoed grasses of Kentucky in August of 2006. It spends its time consuming astringent seas of unsweetened and buttery coffee, and discerning coyly querulous eels from snickering rills and scrolls of uncurling cigarettes’ sulfurous and smoldering smirks. For a time, he wished to be Randy Newman’s tarred and ivoried shadow, though some years later, a coppery flue exposed from the shoal-scrubbed throat of Dylan Thomas. Now, more often than not, he simply wishes to be himself.

Bio:

Bonnie Proudfoot lives on a country road outside of Athens, Ohio. She received an MA in English from West Virginia University, and an MA in Creative Writing from Hollins University. She is a recipient of a Fellowship for the Arts in Creative Writing from the West Virginia Department of Culture and History, and has had fiction and poetry published in the Gettysburg Review, Kestrel, Quarter After Eight, Pine Mountain Sand and Gravel, Northern Appalachia Review, and other journals. Her short story “Old Spirits” placed first in the 2020 Sand Hills Journal Short fiction competition. Goshen Road, her first novel, was published by Swallow Press in January of 2020, and it was selected by the Women’s National Book Association as one of their Great Group Reads for 2020. The novel was also longlisted for the 2021 PEN/Hemingway award.

Currently wrapped up in novel writing, Beatrice's first love is poetry. She's a wandering Kentuckian, having also lived in California, Oklahoma, and now in Missouri. At 42, the age of the life, the universe, and everything, she believes that you get better as you age. Angela Rowe is originally from Middlesboro, KY, but considers herself a West Liberty, KY native since she spent the majority of her childhood and teen years there. She and her children moved to Morehead, KY where she attended Morehead State University, graduating in December of 2006 with a Bachelor of Art in Elementary Education and in December of 2020 with a Master of Art in Education Teacher Leader- Counseling. She has three wonderful children: Tyler, 22, Taylia, 18, and Tanner, 12.
Angela has experience in the public school system as both a full-time and substitute teacher. She currently is positioned as the Educational Program Coordinator/Manager with the secondary teacher preparation program, MSUTeach, at Morehead State University. She has been employed at the university since 2013.
In her free time, Angela enjoys spending time exploring the world with her children, advocating for matters dear to her heart, and being involved in her community.

Under the name Renmeleon, illustrator, author, and designer Ana Maria Selvaggio has been a working creative for 35 years. Living a very eclectic, digitally-analog life, Selvaggio has a passion for writing and has worked in and around the publishing industry since the mid 90s as a book designer and editor.
Selvaggio founded and ran global art collaboratives as well as several creative writing groups out of her home for more than 20 years. Selvaggio teaches K-12 and adult workshops online. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Kraft Paper Muse magazine.
Selvaggio lives with her husband and daughter in Berea, KY. All three are writers.
